People who say Valverde doesn't deserve his current rating must not have watched his games this season, the guy is everywhere on the pitch and does everything perfectly. If you make a list of the 5 best defending CMs, he will be there. If you make a list of the 5 fastest CMs, it will be there. If you make a list of the 5 best CMs dribbling, he will be there. If you make a top 3 of the players with the most stamina in the world, he will be there. If you make a list of the top 5 CMs this season so far and he's not there, you're an idiot

Rendimiento decepcionante, vino por una suma considerable para pelearle la titularidad a Navas pero no hay color, Navas acercándose a los 40 sigue siendo muchísimo mejor. Sobre todo en ataque, a Montiel le cuesta mucho marcar diferencias. Además, ocupa plaza de extracomunitario, tiene cierto problema extradeportivo ahí candente y tras ganar fama con el mundial es un tío que pensaba que podía tener algo de cotización. Y además, el Sevilla tenía dos jóvenes canteranos con buen nivel para el lateral derecho y necesita meter canteranos en primera plantilla. A Carmona al final lo cedieron al Getafe pero Juanlu se va a quedar y ya le estaba ganando el puesto a Montiel, que parecía que iba a comenzar la temporada como el 3º lateral derecho si se quedaba. En resumidas cuentas, no es que sea horrible pero no había cumplido expectativas y tiene pinta de que iba a perder su sitio en el equipo, así que este era el momento de vender si se quería recuperar algo de la inversión.

In the first place Pepelu and his family have been Valencia fans for decades, also the Valencia CF - Levante UD rivalry is a joke for us (valencia fans). Levante is a trophyless small club with 15 years at 1st division, they have played more times against our under23 side, Valencia Mestalla, than our first team, while VCF has always been the 3rd/4th historical spanish club. Levante needed to sell him and a lot of their current squad after spending the parachout payments in making a team capable of promoting in one season to La Liga and failing miserably. On Pepelu, he has been on the Levante youth academy since 13 but they never gave him the chance, he left to Portugal two consecutive times on loan (Tondela and Famalicao) and only got a chance last year when Levante was struggling in first division. He also showed respect to his former club renewing his contract after getting relegated when he could have joined any decent La Liga club at that time but decided to stay there and got them promoted back to the top flight. They didn't and this happens, i don't blame him.
